LEAF 2026

Local Environmental Awareness Fair
A visit with local organizations to learn more about our natural resources, wildlife, and fun in the outdoors. A great event for the whole family!

2026 Local Environmental Awareness Fair

What a joy it was to be in community with you all yesterday at Local Environmental Awareness Fair (L.E.A.F.) in the Town of Boston, NY! We had over 200 community members join us on Saturday, September 12th to celebrate conservation, wildlife, and the outdoors and visit with 19 incredible local organizations.

Families and friends learned about local wildlife, how to identify invasive species, they practiced casting, explored arthropods, checked out books from the BookMobile, and discovered numerous ways to connect with and care for our environment!

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of the organizations that spent their Saturday with us and to the members of the Town of Boston CAC and Friends of the CAC for making it possible!

If you'd like to help our Town put on more events like this, reach out to   cac@townofboston.com.

We're excited to announce the WINNERS of our annual Beauty of Boston Photo Contest.

This year's theme was "A Bountiful World". We invited the community to share the bounty they’re most thankful for - maybe it's a delightful mix of tomatoes freshly harvested from their garden, a sea of coneflower and black eyed susans, a cluster of chanterelles dotted along the forest floor, or a dragonfly perched on a cattail along the pond!

We had 18 fabulous photo entries this year and 59 people came out to cast their vote.

Many thanks to all of you for making this photo contest a success! All photos will be featured on our website and Facebook page, so stay tuned.

Congratulations to our winners! We'll be reaching out to you shortly!
