1978 Orchard Park High School Yearbook
June Goehler passed on November 9, 2021. She was, among many things, my high school chemistry teacher. Engaging, interesting, and knowledgeable I enjoyed her classes, during and after school. I later learned of her business here in Boston - Goehler's Market. Described as having the best sweet corn around, the market offered produce grown here in Boston. She seemed to make it a point to hire Boy Scouts for work around the farm (I was fortunate to know many of them), thereby making her interest in good character known. She will be missed by many people as shown by Facebook posts describing peoples' memories:
- Miss June was one of the first people we met when we moved out here about 6 years ago. My kids loved how she’d give them bread to feed her chickens, give a ride on her golf cart and her authentic kind personality she bestowed on them. She shared her personal victories of being one of the first female teachers in either math or science (my memory fails me) in a local small town. These stories were inspirational to my two daughters and we are definitely going to miss her. Sending condolences to her loved ones. RIP Miss June. (Robyn Wiktorski-Reynolds)
- I loved shopping at Goehler's market and having great conversation with June and her staff. She was such a great contributor to the Boston community. Mom raved over the eggs. Living just down the road for 22 years was a blessing. Although we moved away years ago, I always tried to stop by when visiting the area. RIP June! (Rachael Shagott)
- Very sad news indeed. She was quite the woman and I always loved chatting with her about current events in town when I shopped there.
She was one of my greatest supporters when I was in town politics. I always appreciated her take on things. (Lisa Rood)
- first job also, think I was 11 when I started takin care of the chickens.Things were different then. June n Doc taught me sooo much, they both had an outstanding work ethic. I’d help Doc @ their property in Franklinville, pic corn up on Ice Hill w June ( when did that become Butternut ??) or go in to Clinton Market w June. God Speed, RIP June, Give my love to Doc! Wished I still lived in town n could attend, Prayers Sent (Russell James)
- June Goehler hired my son when he was 13 years old about 14 years ago. He would ride his bicycle to & from about a mile down the road to take care of the chickens & gather the eggs. About a year later , he said I’d like to take Mrs Goehler out for dinner for her birthday because she never goes out “How much would it be for a taxi? I’d like to take her to Tina’s in Hamburg “. We said we could drive you; just call us when you’re done. After Tina’s they went across the street for desert. He was so proud & happy. June was a kind sweet lady. (Judy Meyer)
She will be missed.
