July 8, 2024 - The area is now paved with drainage and guardrails!
June 4, 2024 - The crew is working on repairing the crack and the temporary pavement is removed. Once that's done, they can repave the road. The sticks in the ground down near the water's edge will grow into willows to hold the bank in.
May 10, 2024 - Legislator Mills provided an update from Erie County DPW: Back Creek will be "closed" from May 20 to June 28. Please click or tap here to read the official announcement. In the past, the "closed" Back Creek Road was passable from end-to-end, except when they were working on the slide area, and then only that area was impassable.
May 6, 2024 - Our Supervisor reported that the Erie County DPW should notify us that they'll close the road and start work by the end of the month (there will be a formal announcement). They figure the work will take about a month, depending on the weather.

November 1, 2023 - Although there's no further measurable movement in the crack or surrounding ground, a "temporary" pavement goes down for the winter. Any "fixes" will be applied after that. Meanwhile, no visible changes have happened.
